Ava Peets has lived in the southwest for more than thirty years.   This is where
she has found home, always finding  new vistas, studying  the history and the
many cultures of this great state of New Mexico.   Living in the Grants area is
a continual inspiration of subject matter to paint.  She and her husband have
traveled extensively throughout New Mexico, the southwest, Mexico and many Latin
American countries.  This has provided a rich pallette of opportunities for her
artwork.  

 

Ava paints in oil on canvas and also does pet portraits in graphite.   Her
artwork is multi-faceted, which includes realism, fantasy, interpretational and
impressionistic.   She also has note cards and prints of her original work for
sale.  
Her work is in private collections and was  purchased for the permanent
collection at the Red Rock Museum in Gallup and the Cibola General Hospital in
Grants.
